The Experimentation and Training Division currently has an opening for a Project Officer at Fort Benning, Georgia supporting the Maneuver Battle Lab Experimentation Branch. The candidate selected will serve as a Project Officer assigned to the Soldier Team.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidate must be capable of developing and implementing comprehensive experimentation plans to ensure successful execution of small arm, Soldier individual equipment, weapon optics, sensors, lasers, and ammunition centric projects. Projects' primarily focus on enhancements to survivability and lethality of weapons systems, small arm accessories, ammunition, optics, lasers, and sensors for systems at 40mm and below calibers. Candidate must have current knowledge of small arms marksmanship principles and fundamentals for M4/M16, M249, M240, MK19, and M2 weapons, ballistics, live fire range operations, and advanced rifle marksmanship procedures and techniques. Primary responsibilities include developing plans and oversight of experiment preparation, execution, and reporting. The candidate will be required to coordinate with various Maneuver Center of Excellence directorates as well as TRADOC and Project Management offices to ensure experiment objectives are synchronized to answer Army's requirements. Candidate will provide quality control over all products and deliverables associated with Soldier Team projects. The candidate will synchronize the experiments/campaign's calendar and lead key meetings and planning conferences to ensure unity of effort and priorities are being adhered to. Candidate must be able to document insights and findings related to experimentation results in the form of a final report.
Qualifications
:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Recent military experience in SOF, Infantry, or similar background is required. Candidate must be a subject matter expert in all facets of small arms weapons and marksmanship fundamentals. Candidate must be an experienced writer, have excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills required. Candidate must be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently. Excellent reasoning skills are required. Previous experience preparing and coordinating requirements, messages, decision papers, fact sheets, information papers and briefing slides is required. Candidate must be willing to travel and able to deploy to theater for short term assessments as required. Candidate will be trained and must maintain certifications including transporting hazardous materials, range operations, ammunition handling, combat lifesaver, military driver's license, and other job related requirements. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Recent combat experience at Company/Platoon levels.
