Categories: EducationJob DescriptionProgram Director – CDL Truck Driving Purpose/Summary: This position will be responsible for all functions for the CDL training program at their local campus. The Program Director - CDL will have proven longevity in the field, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, possess demonstrated physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to perform duties of over the road, maneuvering range, classroom instruction, and recruitment of qualified candidates. Responsibilities/Essential Functions and Non Essential Functions: Manage and provide oversight for truck and classroom training. Provide evaluations and training plans for all CDL program instructors. Schedule and conduct training audits in the classroom and on the road. Provide evaluations of examiners. Maintain compliance of records with equipment and student records to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Resolve student or employee complaints regarding training program. Create and maintain lecture, range, and observation schedules for CDL program. Manage CDL instructor work schedule. Provide onboarding and ongoing training for new and current employees. Research and implement new laws and standards; update curriculums. Assist with the recruitment of interested individuals. Assist instructors with the retention of students. Provide instruction in classroom and on the road when needed. Negotiating and implementing partnerships with local carriers in the area to assist with student placement. Not have been convicted of a felony, or convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, in the ten years immediately preceding the date of application. Not have had a revocation or suspension of driver’s license in the two years immediately preceding the date of application. Have graduated from high school and submit high school diploma or submit a high school equivalency certificate. Not have had convictions for moving violations totaling seven or more cumulative points within three years of the date of application. Not have had convictions for moving violations totaling seven or more cumulative points within three years of the date of application. Have at least five years of continuous commercial motor vehicle driving experience within the previous seven years from the date of application.
