Job Details: Associate's Degree RN - Registered Nurse 2 Years Experience Required Level II Trauma Center Our Emergency Department is designated as a Level II Trauma Center and we care for approximately 106,000 patients per year. We have 87 beds plus the ability to expand our services to include an additional 13 beds as needed based on patient needs. Our Emergency Department leadership is highly engaged and responsive to the needs of both staff and patients. For example, we use a flexible scheduling model to closely match the needs of the patient with the availability of staff. Evaluation of trends in volume and acuity has provided data to create the staggered staffing schedule. As a result, in addition to the traditional 7-7 schedule, we are now able to offer staggered shifts such as 1-1, 3-3 or 9-9. Emergency Services are offered at Northeast Georgia Medical Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Highly qualified, board-certified emergency medicine physicians provide 24-hour coverage, and the use of a physician on-call list insures the availability of additional specialists as needed. The Emergency Department houses 44 beds including: 14 trauma beds and two major trauma rooms Nine 'fast track' beds, which are available from 11 am 11 pm for speedy patient care in less critical situations Eight chest pain beds, for quick and accurate diagnosis ER nurses are responsible for ensuring that high priority ER patients get the treatment they need as soon as they need it. Primarily responsible for the admission data base, ongoing assessment, the nursing care plan, discharge planning, teaching, evaluation of the nursing care plan and/or meeting customer service needs. Provides direct supervision to other members of the nursing team, prescribes nursing care, delegates care to be provided, and coordinates the nursing plan of care. This position will care for patients in the child, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures. Applicants to this position must have a minimum of two years recent experience as a RN providing care to adults in a hospital based setting.
