You will receive basically everything you need to start your first gallon brew of tibetan pu erh kombucha. Known for the superior smooth taste and premium fizz, the taste of the kombucha created by the combination of the tibetan scoby and the pu erh tea is purely magical. Your kit will contain:
1 tibetan scoby (2nd most important ingredient)
2 cups of starter liquid (most important ingredient do not discard)
8 pu erh black tea bags
Cloth cover and rubber band to secure onto your vessel (cheese cloth or thin coverings are not recommended)
Written Instructions
You will need to provide the water, sugar, and the gallon glass container/vessel. Instructions to make the tea and start your kombucha brew will be included.
This scoby is not grown from a store bought bottle of kombucha. This is a premium vintage strain, hand grown just for you. My original scoby is the same "Shanya Scoby Queen" Tibetan scoby. It is the only culture I've ever owned so there is no possibility that it has been compromised by any others.
Quick Tips:
Avoid extreme temperatures and oils as these are not good for the health of your scoby.
Tea should be cooled to room temperature before adding to your scoby and starter liquid.
Keep the cloth cover secured to avoid fruit fly infestations.
Optimum brewing temperature is about 75 degrees F. (Try to stay in the 73 to 78 range) In the Wintertime, I use christmas lights around my vessels to keep the temperature slightly warm.
You are certainly free to use any (oil free) tea that you choose, but I include the pu erh tea in this kit to ensure that you get the chance to try this tasty brew. I am available to meet after 4pm on weekdays and on weekends to various public meeting places. (Phenix City to Columbus)
